Global Institute of Black Thought | Playing Cards | Originology | Black History X
Global Institute of Black Thought.
The Global Institute of Black Thought Playing Cards from Black History X brings the institution to the table. On the back of every card, a bold abstract mark. It reads as an eye, looking outward with a burst of light in the center. It reads as a mind, open and radiating. And it reads as a sunrisebreaking over the horizon. Three meanings, one mark.
Because Black thought is not a niche. It is a global institution.
From the scholars of Timbuktu to the philosophers of Kemet. From the writers of the Harlem Renaissance to the thinkers of today. Black thought has always been global. It has always been rigorous. It has always been at the center of human understanding, even when the world tried to push it to the margins. Now it is at the center of the table.
Whether you are playing spades at a family gathering, running a card game with friends, or simply admiring the design, these cards carry the message. The institution is everywhere.
